Early season bucks weigh in more and are more tender eating when you concider the fact that they haven't yet fought and chased does all over heck and back. Rutting bucks can be stupid at times if you can find a doe nearby.

From the looks of those trees you posted earlier, your bucks neck might be swelling pretty good already.
