Got to say that if you don`t ask you`ll never get permission. I take a slightly different line. I look into who owns the land and if anyone I know knows the landowner. I find that when asking a farmer for access if you let him know that you hunt on other farmers land locally it increases you odds. Never hurts when you already hunt on someones land and he`s known him for years.(the old if John lets you on, you must be alright)
