RE: What's the best way to ask permission?
Stacy, I do that every single spring!! You can never have enough spots to go to!! I approach the landowner and ask him right out if it's possible to hunt spring turkey on his land. No sense in beating around the bush, say what's on you mind, but not in a cocky way. He's going to think for a second and then he's going to say one of two things, either yes or no. Some landowners mention that they want to hunt for the first two weeks of the season themselves, but the second half of the season is ok. I always mention that I'm the type of guy who always likes to ask for permission to hunt before hand, instead of just walking onto someone's property. This approach seems to work for me!! If for some reasson he still says NO, try the very next landowner down the road. Turkeys have great hearing!! Nothing wrong with calling them over to a piece of land you "CAN" hunt!!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
