Pointing Dogs.........just my opinion, but I love to watch a good pointing dog work their birds, hold, and retrieve. The flushing crowd love their dogs as well, but I like the controlI have when working my pointers.
if dog points and stays within 30 yds of sproule, that is a dog i could live with..
i hide a grouse feather which i dragged over 300 yds down thru field..
i let my lab loose and he found that grouse wing in 30 seconds..

that was unbelievible to me, i never saw that..
when a lab wants to hunt ,boy, they can cover territory fast...
only problem with lab ,i see, is they tire out in 2 hrs..

pointers/gsp/setters seem to go and go..

i am training my dog early this year,i report back on how long he can go this year...its disappointing to be able to hunt only about 2 hrs...
