Yes, but I suspect that consumers buy .308 tactical rifles because "that's what the Marine snipers use..." I doubt that it's because the .308 is someohw ballistically superior to all other potential "sniper" rounds. So, it comesback to military logistics.
Maybe one of our military trained guys can chime in here... kdvollmer??? Do military "snipers" have a choice now as to what rifle/scope/cartridge combo they use? Have they always had a choice?
