Default HELP sighting in new Horton Explorer 150

I just got a Horton Explorer HD 150 package deal last week. ( I am a complete cross bowrookie)It has the single dot Red dot scope mounted on it. Yesterday I tried to sight it in and ... well I finally put it back in the truck after about 60 shots.

I was trying to sight it in from 10 yards, the Dial A Range set at 0 and the arrows were going over the back of the 3-D Deer about 3 feet and about a foot to the right. The best I could ever get it was about 2 feet high and still right.

The scope came pre mounted on the crossbow. BUT let me ask and I have never shot any kind of weapon with a red dot scope; but shouldn't the "dot" be dead center of the scope? To me the dot looks low and to the left. I mean I can see the end of bow, the rails and the dot is to the left of the rails. I may just need to return it and exchange for another crossbow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a great forum and I look forward to learning alot.

Mark
