Default RE: Zeiss conquest vs Leupold VX-III

oldelkhunter,I think its fair to compare them as they are both companys offerings in that price range. The eye relief is about the same its just the Zeiss don't change with power setting but remains constant. As you go up on power in the Leupold eye relief changes. My big question was ability to handle recoil and go the long run also.Only time will tell on the lasting part and I'm too old to wait for them to be field proven so I guess I'll be one of the testers <img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>as far as recoil goes Mark at D & R Sports told me they sold over 1000 last year and had yet to hear of a failure.Bear Basin told me it was one of the least failing scopes of all they sold.I know guys using them on weatherbys and large caliber africian guns with no problems to this point.I asked for everyone to post troubles they have had with them on some of the big hunting forums on the net and out of over 1500 responces I got 4 people that reported problems with them and all were taken care of by the company by replacing with new scopes.Odd thing was 3 of those people reported 2 failures before they got straight.I bet you could find that many failures with any brand if not more. They seem pretty trouble free to this point.I think you will like yours if you get one and if not they will replace it and then you can sell it pretty easy. They hold their value like Leupolds.i'm interested to hear what JD thinks when he holds them both and looks thru them both with his own eyes and makes his own decision.Thats the real test.
