You rattled at the wrong time. The deer was in plain site, break out your grunt tube. Also if you do decide to rattle when a buck is plain site, soft ticks and clicks is all you need, the sound carries quite a ways. Dont go bashing the bag or antlers right away, thats not how deer fight, you have to build up to that point. You need to practice with your gear before heading afield with it. good luck this year.
