Default RE: flip to side scope mount

The scope keeps its zero, and there is nothing weak to the mount.
The hinge itself has a fair amount of play in the mounts that I have seen. For close range, the zero stays "close enough" for most people, but for longer ranges,it is a factor worth considering.Since you speak of a 300 savage,I am guessing that the ranges are quite short for his hunting. As well, when climibing or traveling over rough terrain ,the scopes did flip off to the side on their own.
