It's late...I'm tired..but...I post this every year, that is true...perhaps I could be more cuddly and loving and think about every hunter in every corner of every woodlot and his/her own respective situation but I simply cannot. I feel obligated to make "hunters" think, because you are not "just" hunters, you are deer management specialists...every time you go afield, and you take or don't take an animal, you are making a "management" decision. You all must adhere to specific harvest criteria and it is those criteria that do NOT just affect your own corner of the world... they ripple and they end up in your neighbors woods and his/her neighbors woods and on and on. It's just not about antler size...did you read that...it's NOT just about antler size...it's about improving the quality and health of the deer in every corner of the deer woods...please explain to me how not having a scientificly balanced deer population hurts any hunter in America. Regardless if you hunt in Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, Maryland, or the sad state of Arkansas (home of the Clintons) had to throw that in...the bottom line is that if the basic premise of QDM were practiced....every hunter would reap the benefits...if you were a meat hunter you would have ample opportunties to fill your freezer with doe meat as most any hunter would tell you there are too many does and if you ever even conceived of taking a deer that weighed more thana30 lb bar bellthen you would eventually have the revelation that their are so many in your woods that you can actually NOT take a shot because you've seen more than one AND they could possibly expose your limit on the bench press.

It's a relative thing relative to every hunter's neck of the woods...but is a genious concept that can be applied to every hunter in every woodlot in the deer woods. The deer are counting on you...

Good luck...and good night...

A genius concept, that's a stretch. If you answered yes to all the questions on page 23 of this thread, from the QDMA site, then QDM may be right for you. If you answered no, then it is probably not practical and a successful QDM program will be nearly impossible to accomplish. Myself and most of the hunters I know fall into the "answered no" category yet still have QDM shoved down our throats all the time byothers who know nothing about our individual situations. It can not be applied to every hunter in every woodlot (even the QDMA recognizes that)andto say that it can beisignoring the facts and failing to consider that every persons huntingsituation is not the same. The amount of outside cooperation and resources necessary (i.e. time, equipment, money, long term land, etc.) make it nearlyimpossible for many of us to even consider, regardless of whether or not we believe in QDM.
