When their initial suggestion is met with, "I'll shoot what I want." they have to turn to trying to convince the others to see things their way. When this is met with resistance it causes preaching and animosity.
I think gutshot nailed what I was going to say. I'm all for everyone being educated on the subject. I'm the epitomy(sp?) of a whitetail sponge right now....trying to soak up everything I can. When you run across people though.....that are
"I'll shoot what I want."
.....it seems the next logical step would be to ask them "well.....what if I told you there was a way you could shoot more mature, larger racked deer?" (an admitted side-effect of QDM).
If they are all ears......you may have a "candidate". People just need to learn that when the guy ISN'T all ears.......they are pissin in the wind......AND....there's nothing wrong with the guy's point of view.
