I wasn't saying anything of the kind you said in your post, I am just stating a fact that my .308 expanded better than my dad's 7mm, and since the .270 is of a nearly identical diameter, off by .007 it would be a smaller bullet, and penetrate better, but not expand as well.

I see no reason for you to go resorting to rhetoric, the .270 is agood weapon,has killed lots of deer and varmits,and I think the thread poster should keep the rifle he has and then get something very different,like a varmit rifle, magnum, or shotgun, since he already has a not-so-cheap rifle that is worthy of use for the rest of his hunting career, a Browning A-Bolt, unless he has the money to upgrade to something like a Sako, Tikka, orKimber.
