RE: Charles Daly Field Hunter 20 Guage Question???
Miroku?? KBI??
I do not believe CD ever imported any Miroku's?? If they did it was for a very short time. IMO all their japanese stack barrel's were made by SKB. The same company that makes Weatherby shotguns. At one time SKB made semi's for Weatherby and CD, and they were the exact same gun. This was during the late 80's.
CD is not owned by KBI??
Charles Daly is a trade name. CD is owned by Outdoor Sport's Headquarter's in Dayton, Ohio. They purchased the name in the late 70's or early 80's. Most of the early Daly over and under's were made by Zoli. CD has never made or imported anything, OSHI imported the items and then branded the items as CD. They did the same on scopes, MZ's, clothing, and other sporting good items. OSHI did it for the sole reason of profit. If you are the only one who has a product, and you market it well, then you can maximize profit. I should know, I marketed CD for years.
Now as far as quality is concerned. OSHI has imported many "Field Grade" over and under's. Some were good quality and some were not, so it really depends on which one you have!! In order to know which one you have you would need to find out when and where it was manufactured. That can be a difficult task. Especially since OSHI does not want you to know this. They buy from the lowest bidder!!!
Last I heard CD was owned by the Bonitz Brother's. You may know them as Jerry's Sporting goods. They also own OSHI. Tom.
