Either will probably be fine, I know people who own both and are equally satisfied. I have 2 elites both 50 mm objectives(3200 & 4200). I say go with the bigger objective 44 or 50, although the elites baseball bat design is a little bulky and not the prettiest, i can attest though it does make a difference and IMO worth the extra $. Have you considered or looked at Burris? I just put a Burris Signature Series on my 7 rem mag and love it. I also own a Vari x iii by leupold and the burris scope isn't lacking anything to the loopy IMO. You may want to check out the Fullfield II by Burris, i am not sure how much they run though. They are a real nice looking scope, light and with a 44 or 50 mm objective available that is relatively short in length, which i am guessing you want on your rifle. (BTW I have the 3200 in a 50 MM on a 7600 Pump, it does look a little top heavy but works just fine)
