I grew up without the benefit of screw ins the poly choke was all there was so we loaded to do what we needed to . Those old full winchesters were all we shot . That said , For the pourpose of keeping a tiny pattern way out like for turkey I would say sure . If you have a gun that is shooting egg shaped or spotty patterns yes .In general hunting unless you're replacing a lose I wouldn't bother .
