RE: To shoot a fawn?
I also hunt in the CWD area in WI. I have heard many hunters telling stories about how a huge buck walked by and they couldn't shoot, because they didn't have a buck tag. Personally I have never had that happen, you want to know why? Because, I am not ashamed to shoot the first doe or fawn that gives me a good shot. I have shot the mom when she had fawns with her (they will be fine by themselves). I haveshot fawns (buck and doe), and I have shot mom andone fawn at the same time. I don't target nubs, and would never knowingly shoot one if I didn't need to earn my buck tag.But you can bet your ass I'm not going to pass him up opening day. I'm in the sametree as FRALEY, I'm going into this season without a buck tag, so the first non antlered deer to give me a good shot is going down.
