No fawns for me I had a very sad expierience with a young one that will be with me forever. I won't shoot a doe with fawns either even if they will be alright. I hate the sound of a fawn searching for its mom and especially if mom is never coming back.

same with me.....young deer I try to stay away from....

As long as there are no spots and it depends on what stand I'm hunting, but other than the stand thingI don't feel any worse killing a young/small deer than I do when shooting a grown one.

Some advantages are:

1. Lightweight, easy to drag (I mean carry),
2. Field dressing / butchering are quite simple.
3. They whole thing will fit in my crockpot(almost).
4. My great, great, grandpappy can eat it without his dentures.

Last year I shot the biggest doe I've ever shot in my life and her two fawns. They were in an urban area andwere doing quite a number on our garden and fruit trees. They were delicious. Hindsight I have no regrets but in a rural area where our farm is I wouldn't shoot a fawn. I think it just matters on the circumstance.
