It seems that people never have time to take care of themselves until a doctor tells them they better start. I've been guilty of that myself lately.

Good for you trying to improve your health Rick.

You are doing it right by building up to a goal. To many of us just jump into working out after sitting around all year and either injure ourselves or worse.

Drinking a lot of water is a good tip. If you do not get enoughwater in your body to flush out the crap and also help us sweat out toxins and help with digestion it's a lot harder to get in shape and loose weight.

I'd stay away from a lot of Gatorade and drinks like that when you are not working out. They're only meant for when you are exercising and not meantto hydrate when you are just sitting around and all the salt and sugar can be counter productive.

Eating more small meals is also a good idea. The body can digest meals better if it is digesting throughout the day.
