you can tell the difference between the jakes and jennies at just a few months old...even when they are just itty bitty things, the jakes will try to strut, i've seen it, nothing but wing feathers and in full strut, i know y'all will think i'm full of it, but i'm not, i'll get pics some time this week if i can....here are some i saw the other morning.....





had an awesome morning thurs. morning....3 quail, 4 hogs, over 20 deer, and over 40 turkey....in about an hours time...
Now that may be a good way to tell, but hens or jennies will and can also strut.

Below is a Rio Hen "struting" to aid her grooming procedures...
