I really dont know what to tell you! But it sounds like your a nice, cool, and easygoing guy.
You could always steal his bow or something when he goes to work or goes on vacation and take it to the archery shop for some tuning or do it your self
But im the same as you, id hate to see one of my friends go into the woods with a bow shooting a foot to the right and have him gut shot a deer. Sorry im not much help.
