A very good compromise is to contact Jeff Aulik at
www.graywolfwoolens.com and order his Fall Gray in Wolfskin. If you get it unlined (you can always wear insulated underwear beneath it), it's not that unreasonable considering the qualities of the fabric (colorfast, near-waterproof, etc.). Jeff's Fall Gray is actually a good compromise between FG and the old Fall Brown. The base color is not as white, but more of a light tan -- but not as dark as ASAT's tan base.
Also, I'll be taking a strong look at Gray Wolf's Intrusion pattern next year; I think it may accomplish even more of what I'm looking for in a camo pattern.
