Look at it this way, Rick.....

I think you can take a guy off the street and have him shooting 290's a LOT quicker than you can have him shooting par on a golf course.

As far as skill levels to be "extremely proficient" (because 300-60x is far from 'extremely proficient'....it's perfect......and par is not the highest level a golfer can hope to achieve, either.....far from it)....the archer will become extremely proficient a LOT faster than the golfer. Is shooting a bow "easy"? Let's just say I think a man could buy one on a saturday......and be shooting VERY consistent 10 rings by the next Saturday.....which is a lot faster than that same guy could become proficient enough to play 18 holes at his local CC without pissing the world off behind him.
