but honestly these mosin nagants really dont kick as hard as somany seem to think. I dont think it kicks any harder than a 308 or 270.
It probably shouldn't, considering the 7.62x54 isn't exactly a magnum cartridge. But we must just have different perceptions of felt recoil, then, because my M-N's kick noticeably harder than my 7 mag. And the recoil pad on my 7 mag is 20 years old or so.
