Im hopeing that by the end of the book things change a little with his experiences.
Things won't change in that book. You have to read some of his later writings to pick up on the changes. When you're reading Fred Bear, Howard Hill, Saxton Pope and especially Maurice Thompson you'll run into descriptions of hunting methods and shots on game that'll make your skin crawl. Just remember you're reading history. You should judge bowhunters' by the standards of their time instead of applying today's standards to their actions then.
Your right! but it is very hard to read some of it. It's kinda like there out clay shooting or something. My wifes grandpaw has some similar stories, at first it was hard to understand but it was a different time. I would love to have some of those oppritunities, hunting Grizzly, Elk, Ram, Goat, Lion, exc. Sorry to Hyjack, I'm done now.
