Your equipment sounds good, The advice about the shoulder area is true. I have seen a 300lb boar hit twice in this area and never knew it. The thing walked around for what seemed to be hours before showing a quartering away shot that put it down.

Sour several jugs of corn, Take a post hole digger and dig down about 4 feet or more.(do this in a area that you or the owner wont mind a large hole and in a area that the hogs are coming through) Fill the hole with the sour corn and then cover it with dirt. The hogs will not stop till they have gotten every last piece of corn.
