Climbers are great for moving around and for public land. Why go to the trouble of hanging a stand each time you go in the woods. A good set of sticks and a good hangon are as expensive as most climbers.

Hangons are great for leaving in the same tree so all you have to do climb up your sticks or steps and just hunt without the hassle of hanging the stand each time. Hangons will also accomodate more trees.
