Default RE: What's Your Best Scent Reducing Methods

Last year I did some tests on this subject using my dog. He finds me every time, but seems to have the most trouble when I've used nothing as far as sprays on my clothes. My suggestion is wash your body with scent free soap. Use scent free deodorant. Never allow yourself to sweat. Wash your clothes in nothing but water and hang them out side, preferably near your hunting area. Use rubber boots that are kept in dirt and leaves. Pay close attention to the wind and touch nothing with your hands. If hunting in a stand, get off the ground fast.

The season that I got busted the most was the year I started using all the scent killer sprays and other crap like that. Take the lid off of anything you’re about to use and smell it. They may get rid of your scent? But they also have their own, which doesn’t smell anything like the woods.

Everything in the woods smells like the woods, so leave your clothes in the woods!
