No, it was the way I was holding it. It says in the manuel that with the sub compact (3" barrel) 1911's, you have to have a solid wrist(no limp wrist). It is a tiny gun. The smallest 1911 I have ever seen. I have since fired many round through the gun with no problems at all. I am confident thet it is reliable.
