I also use a Harris bipod...I bought the longer version, I think it goes to 27 inches...I use it for sitting beside peanut fields, and I sit on a low beach chair, also, I'm 6ft 5...It works fine....As far as recoil affecting, I haven't noticed, but...I shoot a .243 and our farms are in Eastern NC (flat land)...
