RE: Another T.V. Show Mistake!!!
David,
I believe you see my point with regards to what this represents to "Joe Bowhunter".
An animal doesn't have to "jump the string" @ 70 yards for craps sake! A step is a step and a slight turn is a slight turn which in turn relates to a disaster waiting to happen. I'm sorry the conditions weren't exactly right but if you can't get any closer than 70 yards, (with high winds to boot), pass on the shot or pick up your rifle.
I'll ask a couple more questions of you supporters of this shot. Let's say you are teaching hunters education to new hunters and young kids for your state. Would you use this video as an example of what bowhunting is about? Would you tell new hunters and kids that this is O.K.? What do you say to little 10 year old Johnny when he simply says "what would happen if that animal moved or a strong gust of wind came up Mr. Instructor?"
sorry to come off as such a hard case on this but I've seen to many "know it all" types that are willing to try pulling off something like this and then can't understand why someone is pissed at them when it turns out bad.
Percentages have a way of catching up to people that try this kind of stuff. That is where the editing comes in on the videos........Mr. World Class will not have to explain things WHEN it does go bad because they will most definitely do some editing!
