Hello, Well I own a 1911A1 made by High Standard. I haven't had any problems yet with it and I managaed to get it for 400.00 I've heard good and bad about them but. My father had owned a few high standards and never had any problems with them for years. so I got it. Works like a champ. I've put some hot loads into it as well. I've shot the P+ and P++ loads and haven't had any problems with it. Just have to watch what kinds of ammo you get, the cheap stuff will jam up on you. I like the 230 FMJ best. But I have shot the Hydra-shocks and haven't had any problems with it, I get mine from Cheaper than dirt it was like 20 bucks for 50 they work great for home defense. I hope you have a fun time with your 1911A! once you get it. I love mine wouldn't trade it for anything.
