I always think accuracy starts with the shooter. I bet you could bolt that (XD) gun down on the bench so it would shoot and at 25 yards all the holes would be touching. That tells you the gun is shooting in the same place every time, now the shooter has to.
Keep in mind that Springfield (as many others) sets their sights in the "6 o'clock" sight picture at 25 yards.

Hello, Well I own a 1911A1 made by High Standard. I haven't had any problems yet with it and I managaed to get it for 400.00 I've heard good and bad about them but. My father had owned a few high standards and never had any problems with them for years. so I got it. Works like a champ. I've put some hot loads into it as well. I've shot the P+ and P++ loads and haven't had any problems with it. Just have to watch what kinds of ammo you get, the cheap stuff will jam up on you. I like the 230 FMJ best. But I have shot the Hydra-shocks and haven't had any problems with it, I get mine from Cheaper than dirt it was like 20 bucks for 50 they work great for home defense. I hope you have a fun time with your 1911A! once you get it. I love mine wouldn't trade it for anything.

Its not a 1911 but don't overlook the Ruger. They are as solid and dependable as any gun on the market. I have probably had ten Ruger Semi Auto pistols in three caliber and I shot the heck out of all of them. To this day I have never had a malfunction of any kind with the Rugers. They feed everything every time and you can't beat their price.

Taurus makes a fine gun. If you are looking for one to throw under the seat of the truck or keep behind the bed. They build a dependable handgun at a reasonable price. If you are looking for invesment, look elsewhere.
