I never thought they were or are ugly. I guess beauty is in the eye of the bea holder. When I first saw them in an ad in an Outdoor Life mag. as a kid I thought they looked great and they may have been the first gun I fell in love with. I never owned one till a couple or 4 years ago when I bought a 66 semi auto at a gun auction. It is more than just a gun to look at, it is suprisingly accurate and has put a few rabbits in the stew pot for me.
