hey i only got to go out once since im in college but i went home and went out sunday the 6th, i didnt hear nething all morning, no gobbles no nuthin, completely slent..unbelievable for my property, its usually covered in turkeys..i moved spots round 6:30 and sat on a field edge at the top of a ridge..and made a few yelps and cutts by bout 7 i was relle dissapointed and put down my call and gun an just marveled at the beautiful spring morn..thats when i heard him he was runnin toward me from my left and came in runnin full speed and gobblin every couple seconds til lhe popped into full strut 10 feet behind me..i wasnt usin decoys..what a suprise my guns still on the ground and my call is too ..i pick u p the gun slowly..and turn around..shielde by a big tree, i swing around it and pop the turkey ..it all went down in like 30 seconds..he weighed 22 pounds, 9 3/4 inch beard and one inch spurs..ill post a pic later
