Both are very good coyote calibers. The 22-250 obviuosly delivers with a little more punch, but is it necassary. I shoot a 22-250, and have exit wounds on everything except frontal, chest, shots. If you are wanting to save the hides, go with the .223. Ammo is cheaper and it is plenty for coyotes.
