I love the 22-250 for anything bigger than a squirrel, and smaller than an elk. But if you are on a budget, the 223 will work on all those animals too, but not as well. Just for yotes it doesn't really matter that much and the 223 or the 22-250 will be about the same. You can get ammo for the 223 much cheaper and easier to find. Basicly whatever is the easiest for you to get is what I would use.

If it were me I would get a savage 111G in 22-250 and put a 3x9x50 scope on it. Then a good sling, and bi-pod. And I would use winchester 40 grain supream ballistic tip bullets. Keep in mind we have alot of hogs around where my state and I tend to like guns that would also take out a big bore too, the 223 might be better for coyotes.
