RE: Forget the wind, just hunt?
I do pay attention to the wind when I have a good idea of where the deer will come from. But I hunt a lot of stands where the deer can and do come in from any direction. In those cases I try to remain as scent free as possible and hope for the best.
During the rut all bets are off trying to predict what direction they will come in from. I have a couple of places I hunt mostly during the rut and with any wind. I have had them run circles around me at times and not know I was there, or didn't care.
