They (as with the pistol grip stocks) will put your trigger hand in a different position. Some like it, some don't. I personally feel it's a better method of holding a rifle, to me it feels more natural. I don't however like the way it looks especially on a hunting rifle. With those I prefer a nice standard wood stock...but that's just me.

I tend to keep the style the way it was designed. If it came with a pistol grip stock (or a Dragunov) then I keep it that way. If it came with a standard stock I keep it like that.

It all boils down to personal preference...get what you like.
