i just got a lee collet neck sizer. the problem is that i'm not getting enough neck tension. even after using a factory crimp die.....i'm able to push the bullet into the cartridge with my thumb. i've heard that annealing the case necks would help. can someone teach me how to anneal? ty guys. the only other thing i can think of is to request a smaller diameter mandrel from lee precision.
give the collet neck sizer another 1/8 to 1/4 turn in. the problem yer having is from the die not being adjusted right. annealing will help give additional neck tension. but the problem you are having is the die. also if you arent getting good neck tension right off crimping wont do squat for ya. also annealing IMO is a poor way to gain neck tension annealing is much better suited for extending case life. also annealing is risky business and IMO not worth chancing just to get 2 or 3 more loadings out of the brass. if you anneal the case down tofar past the neck and the case webbing and case head accidently become hardened then you run the risk of blowing your gun and yourself up. Im 100% positive by adjusting your die another 1/8 to a 1/4 turn in it will cure your problem.
