rickt300, If designation of ammo is correct, XM193, then this is experimental ammo and you probably shouldn't have your hands on it. I should have noticed that in my first post. Any military designation beginning with "X" means experimental. Because of this I can't say that these are safe to use in any rifle. Normal military 5.56mm NATO ammo is safe to use in your 700ADL. I've been shooting surplus ammo in my 223 for years with no problems. The case dimensions and chamber size for a 5.56mm NATO and 223 Remington are identical, they are exactly the same round. The differance in barrel twist rate in based on what weight bullet the manufacturer feels will be used most often. A heavier and long bullet requires a faster twist to achieve acceptable accuracy.
