I hear ya...I usedto keep 4 or 5 Roosters in my top compartment of my tackle box. I had moved them to my bottom drawer..I will be bringing them back up to the top. I know why I moved them...our lakes are over grown with weeds..however..since they are great count down lures you can fish them at any depth. I used to ALWAYS have a rod loaded with a Rooster in the front of my boat. When fish were schoolng or a big swirl appears. BING..cast the baby about 15 feet beyond and reel her in about 3 feet below the surface,,, WHAM! fish on

I buy mine from Cabelas...I thnk they just went up to 2.19 a piece. For bass I fish White and 3/8 of an ounce..I bought and tried th e1/2 ounce but they look goofy...for me the hackle and treble don't match . The 3/8 cast a LOOOONG way. I don't need any right now. I have about 12 Rooster Tails. Because of the shipping price I buy about 6 at a time with other tackle.

Another thing...sometimes when your fishing.. the bass don't jump..LOL They diffently jump on the Rooster Tail so be prepared and keep that rod bent over and line tight. The drag must be set perfect ..Too tight and she's gone ..too lose and the Rooster falls out. You may want to sharpen the hooks as well before fishing.

Man I'm pumped...let's go fishin
