Default RE: working at a pro shop

I once talked to a shop owner about that. I was interested in either working in a shop, or me and a buddy wanted to open up a target shooting place with a small shop in it.

His response was "Do you like hunting?, Do you like shooting your bow?" I said yes, and said then don't work in a pro shop or open your own place. He said he rarely gets to hunt when he wants to because his most hectic time is during bow season. Everyone waits until the last minute and they want it yesterday. He said he was about to retire so he could start hunting again. He ended up passing away before he could sell the place and retire though[&o].

I personally wouldn't mind working in a small shop though, as long as I didn't have to ring people up. I love archery and helping people, but I don't like dealing with money. I would actually rather be a coach than a tech to be honest.
