Default RE: Speer Grandslams

I've used Speer Grand Slams for years, in .270, .280, and .35 Whelen. I've killed whitetails, mule deer, elk, and caribou with GS's, and have found them to be accurate and effective. They penetrate well, expand well, transfer energy well, but don't blow up and spray bullet fragments through the meat. Only problem I've had is that the 250 gr .35 Cal GS's don't expand all that well on mule deer out of a .35 Whelen. With a .35 caliber hole leaking out both sides, I'm not sure expansion was all that critical, but I quit using the big bullets on deer. They work great on elk and caribou, though.

Basically, you get premium, bonded-core bullet performance at less than half the price of Swift or similar bullets.
