I'm a cover fanatic. I don't like to cut lanes or anything. I always look for triple and double trees, trees with low bushy trees growing up to my level or trees I can lasso with a rope I carry and pull in and tie off to give me cover. As a last resort I'll clip some bushy limbs and weave them in my climber to hide me. I like them sticking out the sides on the back of the stand and a couple sticking hanging from the front. My stand has the perfect little places to wedge in a limb. IMO it's better to have a couple branches sticking out in front of you to break up your outline than to have wall or something hanging down that looks unnatural.
