I have both and I like the speed from the graphites but I'm going back to hunting with alum. The only reason I shoot a bow is to hunt and maybe shoot the occassional 3-d for practice. The only thing I don't like about the aluminum shafts is the metallic sound in which is unforgiveing considering the circumstances but I've never heard of an aluminum arrow breaking and shooting oneself on release.
