I have Leupold's on my 30/06 and on my slug gun. I could not justify spending this much on a scope for the smoke pole. Our season here is only a few days long. I bought a Simmons 3x9 with a 40mm objective and medium height rings.(Get the high ones!)I have a 1/16 of an inch between the scope and the barrel.The optics are not the best when up on 9, but they are as clear as a bell at 6 and lower. I paid about $70 for the set up. I tested it about 3 weeks ago on a doe. It did its job.
