Default RE: GPR Shoot Today

Thanks cayugad. I find that the peep sight forces me not to look at the hammer and actually blocks it out for the most part. I basically took this gun out of the box, gave it a cleaning, put on the peep sight, took the originalrear sight off and went shooting. I'm really pleased with the peep being "on" right out of the box. Very suprised actually. I'm going to keep on shooting and get those 50 yard groups tighter. I have some work to do there. Once I get the groups tight I will do some final adjustments to the peep. No sense in adjusting them yet. Maybe I need a smaller target. Remembering Mel's saying, "Aim small, miss small."

One thing I noticed was that I had several "flash in the pan's" today. The pan isn't polished and is a bit rough so I'm going to polish it up with my dremel. I was using 3f Goex for prime. I cleaned the pan after each shot and plugged the vent before loading.

Once I tried to put a ball down without giving the barrel a swab and holy crap batman. I got it about 6 inches with the short starter and when I tried the range rod to seat it, it wouldn't even budge. I had to get my young fella to hold the rifle while pulled like heck to get it out. Seriously it WAS that tight.[]

Funny thing today. Another fella showed up with his 7mm and was shooting worse than I was. LOL
