This is the 2012 contest scoring thread. This thread is for Captains (or designee) to post their Teams kills and scores. This does not require the pics being posted, as we check the team threads when there is a score posted. If youd like to post a pic, thats ok as well. We will not accept any score that is posted unless the captain (or designee) has posted it. Also captains put the species of bird down as well...

It all started last year March 19th 2011 for a Single Season Royal Slam and actually ended March 7th 2012 with a World Slam in less then a year what a roller coaster ride it was.

Even though I did not accomplish getting an Ocellated with a bow I ended up with a truly one of a kind 4 SPURRED Ocellated. Any bird would have been a trophy in my books but I was blessed with a magnificent bird.

2-SPURS ON EACH LEG 4-SPURS TOTAL LEFT SPUR 1 15/16" SECOND LEFT SPUR 1 1/16TH RIGHT SPUR 2" SECOND RIGHT SPUR 14/16".

Bird #1 for 2012
 

Our season opened this past Sat. 24 Mar. got my 1st bird this morning at 9:05 a.m came in silent and following a hen.

Here are his stats: 19.5 lbs, RS-3/4 inches, LS-7/8 inches, Main beard-11 and 1/2 inches, 2nd beard-4.0 inches, 3rd beard-2.5 inches.

JW! has the pics and normally post them for me, if he will again be so kind. I didn't notice the 2 smaller beards when taking the pics, only when I moved him to my cleaning bench did I see them, they are thin, but there, first time for me.

Got my 2nd bird today. 19 1/4 lb, 2 beards, 1st beard-11 & 3/8 in., 2nd beard-11 inches, RS-1 inch, LS-3/4 inch( this spur had been broken, so might have been better)

I may be wrong about the double beard, never saw one like this. Each beard was seperate but growing out of the same meat area with a seperation between them. In my opinion, even though they are growing out of the same meat area, they are definitely, in my opinion, 2 differen beards. I sent JW! photos and I'll let him call the shot.

Ok I scored this morning and sent jrbsr a message and the measurements. Can someone help me out what I need to do. I will post the pictures here.




This bird was 23 1/8 lbs, 8 1/2 inch beard and had no spurs. I have never seen a tom that had no spurs. It was a Merriam.

Man no spurs - never hae seen that and it is a bonefide Tom too!
