Well youth season in MO was awesome. DTC Jr smacked a dandy bird out of our alfalfa field. Bird weighed 25 lbs, had a 10" beard, and 1 1/8" spurs. His pic will be on the TEam 4 thread. He killed a bird in that same spot last year. We had those gobblers at 50 yds behind the blind for over 2.5 hours before they came to the field. Had the hens in front of us 3 different times. We have one ole bearded hen that has a 9" beard or so and she was at 15 steps. I thought our hunt was gonna end there. Jr is wanting to kill that bearded hen, he let her walk last spring too.

We start up April 16th. I heard 4 birds gobble on one of my farms last week. The other gobbler that was with Jr's bird has been in that field everyday. All the hens left those birds when they finally come in so the hens had no idea what happened. That gobbler was in there 4 hours after Jr killed his buddy with the hens. I watched him with the binos and he didn't do alot of strutting that night but he did last night.
