My rifle season ended without much to show for it. Had a decent one that I took a shot on and found a lot of good blood but the trail ended after about 500 yards. It went to a drop every 30 feet or so. Got to an opening in the pasture and with about 5 ways for it to travel we couldn't find any more blood. Had 6 people scouring the area to find another drop but came up empty. It has been a week and the weather warmed up so I am going out later this afternoon or tomorrow to scout around with my nose to see if I can find if he permanently layed down.

We do have an extended season in December for blackpowder. Not sure if a kill then would qualify for this contest.

mbmrang, sorry about your season.... and your lost deer.

We get to hunt to the end of January, so hopefully I can get some points on the board.

I shot a 140 lb (dressed) doe but didn't take pics. Don't suppose that counts then eh?

No bucks.

I shot a doe with rifle... that is the only deer I have seen with the gun in my hand the past month.
I have only been going weekends lately due to hectic work schedule
